The property features upscale accommodations, multiple dining options, a full-service spa, extensive meeting and event spaces, and an array of recreational facilities such as swimming pools and fitness centers. This environment requires a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about maintaining the resort’s infrastructure to the highest standards while ensuring guest satisfaction and safety.
The Maintenance Technician Full-Time position at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa plays a critical role in upholding the property’s operational efficiency and guest comfort. This non-management role is focused on responding to guest repair requests promptly and effectively, ensuring all maintenance issues are resolved to the highest standards. The technician will perform preventive maintenance on various tools and equipment within the kitchen and mechanical rooms, including necessary cleaning and lubrication to maintain optimal functionality.
Duties include visually inspecting equipment for wear and potential issues, managing maintenance inventory, requisitioning parts, and communicating daily activities across shifts to ensure seamless operations. The role requires knowledge and ability in diverse maintenance areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems, plumbing, pneumatics, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and general building upkeep. Additionally, the technician will carry out surface preparations, minor repairs to drywall and wood trim, light bulb and air conditioning filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of repair areas.
This position also involves testing, troubleshooting, and performing repairs on a wide array of equipment including plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and guestroom items. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for programming televisions, performing housekeeping-related inventory tasks, and using Lockout/Tagout safety procedures when necessary. Landscaping repairs and maintenance of external sprinkler systems also fall within the scope of this role.
Strong computer skills are essential for inputting schedules and managing temperature controls. The role demands strict adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and confidentiality agreements to protect proprietary information and company assets. With an emphasis on professionalism, the Maintenance Technician must consistently present themselves in a clean and professional manner, provide outstanding guest interactions, and foster positive working relationships within the team.
This position calls for physical stamina to handle tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, twisting, and moving equipment as needed. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to build or advance their career in hotel engineering or general maintenance within a prestigious hospitality setting. The resort values continuous learning and offers a supportive environment to develop technical skills and industry knowledge while contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
