The employment opportunity available at this hotel falls under the Engineering & Facilities category and is positioned as a full-time, non-management role. The hotel takes pride in fostering a professional and welcoming environment that values the contributions of each team member towards maintaining the high standards expected by its clientele.
The role in question is focused on maintenance and engineering services within the hotel. The Maintenance Technician position is integral to ensuring that the hotel's facilities remain in optimal condition, delivering a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff alike. Responsibilities include responding promptly to guest repair requests, diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues, and performing preventive upkeep on vital equipment such as kitchen appliances, tools, and mechanical systems. This position requires a comprehensive understanding or willingness to acquire knowledge in various technical areas including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Key duties involve daily inspections, carrying necessary tools such as radios, identifying and operating shut-off valves for equipment and utilities, and maintaining an inventory of supplies needed for repairs. The role demands adherence to safety protocols like the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Additionally, responsibilities extend to minor repairs such as painting, drywall patching, light bulb replacement, and landscaping maintenance, including sprinkler systems.
The Maintenance Technician is also expected to demonstrate basic computer skills for tasks such as inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures. Effective communication is essential for reporting daily activities to other shifts and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations. The position requires a balance of technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and customer service orientation, as technicians must interact courteously with guests, addressing their concerns promptly and professionally.
Physical demands include lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, navigating stairs, ramps, and ladders, and performing various movements such as bending and stooping. The role emphasizes professionalism through uniform maintenance, confidentiality of proprietary information, and respect for company assets.
Preferred qualifications for applicants include a high school diploma or GED, some prior experience in maintenance or hotel engineering, and no supervisory experience is required. A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position. This job offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a dynamic role in hotel engineering, providing chances to develop technical skills and contribute to exceptional guest experiences at a prestigious property.
