The Hotel Director of Sales & Catering at The Verve Hotel Boston Natick plays a pivotal role in driving the hotel's revenue growth and market presence. This dynamic leadership position encompasses managing sales efforts for rooms, group business, corporate accounts, and event sales, along with steering the sales and catering team to achieve outstanding results. Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with Revenue Management, the Director of Sales & Catering is responsible for shaping the hotel's revenue mix and ensuring profitability across multiple market segments. This role demands a strategic mindset combined with hands-on sales activity, including developing and executing comprehensive sales plans, analyzing market trends and competitive activities, and maintaining key account relationships through networking and community engagement.

Beyond sales leadership, this position involves overseeing accurate forecasting and reporting, leveraging sales and catering software to optimize performance, and collaborating with various hotel departments to guarantee smooth execution of group business and special events. The Director of Sales & Catering will represent The Verve Hotel at industry gatherings, trade shows, and client functions, enhancing the hotel's visibility and reputation within the hospitality sector. This role offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 annually plus incentives, alongside a suite of comprehensive benefits. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel/restaurant administration or business preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience leading a hotel sales team or serving in a senior-level hotel sales role with catering management experience in a full-service hotel
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with sales and catering software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyze market data and performance metrics

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel/restaurant administration or business preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency with sales and catering software and Microsoft Office

Job Duties

  • Lead revenue strategy across all revenue segments including group, transient, function, and special events
  • Develop and execute sales plans to achieve budgeted revenue and market share goals
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and demand drivers to guide strategy
  • Manage key accounts and cultivate new business through prospecting, networking, and community involvement
  • Lead the sales and function team including hiring, training, KPI, and performance achievement
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and use of sales systems and tools
  • Partner with hotel departments to ensure seamless execution of group and event business
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and client functions
