The role of Pantry Attendant within KHC is a vital support position that ensures the hotel's lobby breakfast and refreshment areas, as well as concierge rooms, are consistently stocked, clean, and inviting. The Pantry Attendant is responsible for maintaining a hospitable environment that enhances guest experience by providing timely replenishment of food and beverage items and keeping the area orderly throughout the day. This position involves regular interaction with hotel guests, providing assistance by answering questions and inquiries in a friendly manner. It is essential in maintaining inventory through receiving weekly deliveries, organizing stock, and managing waste disposal responsibly.

In this role, employees perform a variety of tasks that include washing dishes and food trays, cleaning microwaves, clearing and wiping tables and counters, preparing coffee and hot water dispensers, and ensuring that the pantry area is clean, vacuumed, and mopped as needed. The Pantry Attendant helps support other hotel departments by assisting with cleaning public restrooms, fitness centers, pool areas, and lobbies when required. They also maintain communication logs for effective coordination between shifts and convey important information about inventory levels, maintenance needs, or guest complaints to management promptly.

Physical demands for this role are moderate but require employees to be capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Job Duties

  • Meet and greet hotel guests and answer questions and inquiries
  • put away weekly delivery of supplies and rotate stock
  • re-stock food and beverage items on hotel bar as guests deplete them and put away food and supplies at end of meal period
  • wash dishes and food trays
  • clean microwaves
  • clear and wipe counters and tables, place centerpieces on tables and remove salt and pepper shakers
  • fill coffee pots before leaving
  • fill hot water dispenser and electric steamers to prepare for the next day
  • dispose of trash and wipe down trash cans
  • break down cardboard boxes and carry out to the trash and recycling receptacle
  • vacuum and mop dining area and pantry
  • organize pantry
  • complete hotel pantry communication log for other shifts and hotel employees to review
  • communicate inventory shortages, maintenance issues, or guest complaints to manager
  • assist with cleaning public restrooms, pool area, fitness center, main lobby, sleeping rooms or laundry or special cleaning projects as requested
