Ascent Hospitality is currently seeking a highly qualified and dynamic individual to join their team as a Banquet Manager. The Banquet Manager role is pivotal within the organization, overseeing the Banquet Department's food and beverage services in the hotel. This leadership position comes with the responsibility to monitor and control all aspects of guest service, employee performance, and operational costs. The Banquet Manager plays a key role in training and scheduling team members, ensuring that service delivery aligns with the company's high standards. They also have a significant impact on managing labor costs and maintaining staff efficiency while fostering positive guest relations.

In this role, the Banquet Manager will be responsible for implementing strategic procedures to maintain equipment, control costs, manage inventory, and ensure the highest levels of sanitation and hospitality. The position requires close collaboration with various departments within the hotel, including sales and conference services, to maximize business volume and coordinate for special events. The Banquet Manager will also take a hands-on approach to staff development by conducting on-the-job training and actively managing day-to-day departmental tasks.

Leadership extends beyond routine tasks to overseeing special events from concept through execution, including off-premise dinners and holiday food and beverage offerings. The role demands a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations with tact and discretion. The successful candidate will be adept at financial analysis, planning, and problem-solving while maintaining a guest-centric approach that ensures satisfaction and positive relations.

Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in quality food and beverage operations management
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficient in food and beverage banquet service procedures and techniques
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and discretion
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Willingness to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and using hands and fingers repetitively
  • Must have effective vision including close, distance, and color vision

Job Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel or restaurant management preferred
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in quality food and beverage operations management
  • Experience in conference center food and beverage operations is a plus
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Proficiency in food and beverage service procedures and banquet dining techniques
  • Skilled in handling guest, staff, and management interactions with professionalism and courtesy
  • Knowledgeable in office equipment operation, including computers and telecommunication devices
  • Ability to present information clearly and persuasively
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, planning, and prioritizing skills
  • Basic mathematical proficiency

Job Duties

  • Ensure the highest quality of dining service by conducting regular training of personnel
