The role of Banquet Captain at The Loom Hotel is pivotal in ensuring the flawless execution of banquet and event functions within the hotel's banquet department. Reporting to the Banquet Manager, Supervisor, or Director, this non-exempt position demands a leader who is highly detail-oriented and focused on providing exceptional guest services. The Banquet Captain oversees the setup, service, and breakdown of food and beverage functions, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and meets the high standards of The Loom Hotel. This role requires strong leadership to supervise and coordinate banquet staff effectively, maintaining seamless communication between the kitchen and service teams to guarantee timely service and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include conducting pre-function meetings, managing event logistics according to Banquet Event Orders, and ensuring all food service areas are clean and orderly before, during, and after events. The Banquet Captain also plays an essential role in anticipating guest needs, managing beverage service in compliance with regulations, and accurately preparing and submitting banquet event summaries. Candidates for this role should be capable of meeting physical demands such as standing, bending, and lifting items up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years experience in banquet service or related hospitality role
- leadership experience in a food and beverage environment
- excellent communication skills
- ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Supervises banquet staff during setup, service, and breakdown of events
- attends weekly BEO meetings and communicates event requirements to staff
- reviews banquet event orders and ensures all event needs are met
- ensures all functions start on time with rooms ready 15 minutes early
- conducts pre-function meetings to ensure staff hygiene and appearance standards
- assigns stations and pre-posts functions for side work
- inspects buffet and food service table settings for accuracy and cleanliness
- monitors beverages and service items continuously
- manages guest service throughout events
- serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in compliance with regulations
- prepares daily summary and submits completed banquet checks to Night Audit
- maintains communication with banquet chef on guest counts and timing
- supervises cleanliness and sanitation of work areas
- oversees post-function clean-up and checks storage areas
- finalizes banquet checks and obtains host signatures
- performs additional tasks as assigned by management
