Additional duties include dusting and polishing furniture and woodwork, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and shampooing carpets when needed. Housekeepers must also manage hotel supplies by restocking items like soap, shampoo, and other guest conveniences to ensure a consistently pleasant experience. Changing linens and towels between guests is a fundamental task, requiring attention to detail in replacing all bedsheets and bathroom linens with clean ones. Waste removal from rooms and work areas must be performed according to health, safety, and recycling regulations, with adherence to proper procedures for hazardous materials. The role extends to the kitchen and dining areas, where housekeepers ensure that all utensils, plates, and glasses are thoroughly cleaned and polished, and that kitchen appliances and surfaces remain sanitary and organized. Responsibility for assisting with food preparation tasks such as salad preparation and grilling dishes may also be part of the role, especially in smaller or more integrated hospitality settings. Job Duties

  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and areas after each guest vacates a room
  • Dusting and polishing furniture and woodwork regularly
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors as needed
  • Organizing and restocking guest convenience items in rooms
  • Changing linens and towels and ensuring beds are properly made
  • Removing waste from wastebaskets, ashtrays, and work areas following safety and recycling guidelines
  • Maintaining cleanliness of dining utensils using industrial dishwasher and hand polishing
  • Cleaning kitchen and storage areas, including appliances and surfaces
  • Assisting with food storage, rotation, and preparation such as preparing salads and garnishing dishes
