The Associate Director of Food and Beverage at Hyatt plays a critical role in overseeing the comprehensive food and beverage services across various outlets including Banquets, Restaurants, In-Room Dining, and Lounges. This temporary position, lasting between 6 and 8 weeks, involves responsibility for both front and back of house operations, ensuring seamless integration of food and beverage services with overall hotel operations. The role requires strategic planning and management skills to develop operational and marketing plans, manage budgets, and implement programs that support sales growth and customer satisfaction. The Associate Director ensures that food and beverage offerings meet the highest standards of quality and hygiene in compliance with health regulations and Hyatt’s corporate policies.

The position is designed for a dynamic leader who can efficiently coordinate with various hotel departments to ensure smooth guest experiences while maintaining rigorous control over payroll, inventory, reporting, and forecasting functions. Job Requirements

  • 4 years or more of progressive hotel food and beverage experience typically with Hyatt
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Hotel or hospitality degree an asset
  • High energy and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Motivational leader with proven track record in high volume concept
  • Effective communicator
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • Experience implementing new food and beverage concepts

Job Duties

  • Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the food and beverage operations in the front and back of the house
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans
  • Implement and maintain food and beverage sales and marketing programs
  • Direct and oversee development of employees
  • Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews
  • Direct the implementation of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for food and beverage operations
  • Coordinate food and beverage operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service
  • Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
  • Implement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction
  • Exercise quality control for both food and beverage
  • Maintain Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementation
  • Performing daily walk-through to ensure full compliance with department of health regulations and Hyatt corporate standards
  • Maintain communications with corporate staff
  • Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
