Job Description

Appellation Lodi - Wine & Roses Resort and Spa is a distinguished luxury hotel nestled in the heart of Northern California's celebrated wine country. This resort stands as a beacon of hospitality excellence, seamlessly blending culinary artistry with world-class accommodation. Founded through the visionary partnership of Charlie Palmer, an acclaimed chef and hospitality innovator, and Christopher Hunsberger, a seasoned hotelier with decades of experience at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Appellation Lodi delivers an unparalleled guest experience defined by local culture, community spirit, and exceptional craftsmanship. The hotel offers guests the perfect setting for romantic getaways, business events, and special occasions, complete with elegantly appointed rooms, exquisite dining options, and rejuvenating spa and wellness services. The resort emphasizes career growth opportunities across various departments, fostering a collaborative work environment for professionals in hospitality, culinary arts, event planning, and management.

The role of Hotel Assistant Manager at Appellation Lodi is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality leader passionate about creating memorable guest experiences and leading high-performing teams in a luxury environment. This full-time position receives an annual salary of $70,304 and is pivotal to ensuring operational excellence across the Front Office and maintaining the highest luxury service standards. The Assistant Manager serves as both a leader and an ambassador for the guest experience, ensuring guests receive impeccable service from arrival to departure. Working closely with the Front Office Manager, the Assistant Manager oversees daily Front Office operations, including supervision of front desk, reservations, and guest services teams, while also coordinating closely with departments such as Housekeeping to ensure seamless hotel functionality.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader, visible on the floor, who inspires by example and cultivates a culture of genuine hospitality, teamwork, and service excellence. Responsibilities extend beyond daily operational oversight to include managing labor costs, cash handling, billing accuracy, and expense monitoring. The Assistant Manager also plays a vital role in supporting VIP guest arrivals and special requests, resolving guest concerns swiftly and professionally, and driving continuous process improvements through proficiency with hotel systems such as Maestro PMS and Toast POS. This role demands exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, privacy, and ADA compliance. Additionally, Appellation Lodi values bilingual abilities, specifically English and Spanish, as a desirable asset, contributing to enhanced communication and guest satisfaction.

Situated in the inviting town of Lodi, California, this resort offers employees an enviable quality of life with affordable living costs significantly lower than nearby metropolitan areas like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Napa. Employees benefit from a rich and supportive community atmosphere and easy access to outdoor recreation and cultural activities. The Hotel Assistant Manager role not only offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package—including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) matching, and employee assistance programs—but also fosters a career path within a brand that blends luxury hospitality with the authentic spirit of its destination. Prospective candidates who thrive in fast-paced, guest-focused environments and aspire to lead with integrity and passion are encouraged to explore this opportunity to join Appellation Lodi's prestigious team and contribute to its ongoing success and reputation for excellence.
