Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior housekeeping or supervisory experience in a hotel environment
  • mandatory availability to work weekends
  • attention to detail
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow safety and hotel policies
  • familiarity with housekeeping equipment and chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior housekeeping experience especially in a hotel setting
  • experience with Marriott housekeeping standards preferred
  • strong attention to detail
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to supervise and train staff
  • knowledge of housekeeping safety and procedures
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
  • physical ability to perform required duties

Job Duties

  • Cleans hotel guestrooms, bathrooms, corridors, lobbies and laundry as needed or assigned
  • assigns work to housekeeping personnel when the Executive Housekeeper is absent
  • assists in training/developing personnel in housekeeping duties, safety and KHC policies/procedures
  • communicates regularly with Front Desk on status of room inventory and updates front desk system as necessary or allowed
  • ensures guest satisfaction through quick attention to questions, concerns or problems
  • communicates needs for room supplies, furniture/room renovation or replacements, room maintenance
  • examines carpets, drapes and furniture for stains, damage, or wear
  • assists in the planning of carpet shampooing, turning of mattresses and spring/fall extensive cleaning
  • checks and counts hotel linens and supplies
  • records inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel of inadequacies
  • assists Executive Housekeeper in the proper storage and security of all housekeeping room keys
  • assists with guest lost and found items
