The Assistant General Manager role is crucial to the seamless operation of the hotel. Job Requirements

  • minimum two years supervising at least eight associates at a branded quality hotel
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • at least three years of hotel industry experience preferred
  • accounting experience preferred
  • professionalism with honesty and trustworthiness
  • excellent attendance and punctuality
  • knowledge in housekeeping, maintenance and food and beverage operations preferred
  • ability to perform major life activities including standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating
  • ability to stand for eight hours and perform physical tasks such as bending, stretching, reaching
  • availability to work long hours, weekends and holidays
  • ability to push or pull 60 pounds and lift or carry 30 pounds
  • ability to follow approved laundry procedures and assist with linen folding

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • minimum of two years supervisory experience managing at least eight associates at a branded, quality hotel preferred
  • at least three years experience in the hotel industry preferred
  • experience in accounting preferred
  • knowledge of housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage operations preferred
  • strong supervisory skills including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising, documenting and motivating staff
  • proficiency in computer operations and property management systems
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multi-task, be detail oriented and service centric

Job Duties

  • Maintain a professional cohesive team by hiring, training, coaching, counseling and developing the most qualified individuals
  • promote positive morale and friendly attitudes
  • complete administrative duties in a timely manner including schedules, payroll, inventories, orders, production controls
  • work within budgeted guidelines for maximum revenues and within labor models
  • maintain safety and security practices and have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures
  • ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service
  • communicate and document using internal means such as logs and email
  • be thoroughly familiar with the Associate Handbook and implement all company rules, policies and procedures
  • maintain certification from a brand approved responsible vendor training program
  • implement the company’s Standard Operating Procedures at the hotel
  • keep General Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
  • perform other duties as assigned that the associate is capable of performing
