The role of Hot Deli Department Supervisor at 99 Ranch Market is a critical position within the store’s operations. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the entire Hot Deli department, ensuring smooth execution from product preparation to inventory management. This leadership role requires managing multiple facets such as product display, material distribution, and inventory control, all geared towards increasing product exposure, customer satisfaction, and ultimately driving higher sales. The supervisor plays an essential part in maintaining operational efficiency as well as compliance with food safety and company standards.
In this role, the supervisor also leads the department’s customer service efforts, ensuring that the team members provide excellent service, promptly addressing and resolving customer suggestions or complaints. The position involves using company systems for tracking product sales and inventory, conducting monthly physical inventory counts, and assisting with Omni channel services and marketing initiatives. The supervisor manages ordering and receiving products, ensuring quality and quantity standards are met, and oversees the stocking process using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) methods to maintain product freshness.
Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for supervising the creation of attractive product displays and promotional materials to drive customer engagement and sales. Safeguarding department assets, complying with safety codes and procedures, maintaining equipment and sanitation, and timely removing expired products are all vital duties. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of clerical experience in produce or related department
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Current or obtainable Food Handler's certificate
- Bilingual abilities preferred
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds with equipment
- Ability to work in varying temperature and noise conditions
- Must perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
Job Qualifications
- One year of clerical experience in the produce department or equivalent
- Bilingual in English/Mandarin, English/Cantonese, or English/Spanish preferred
- Ability to work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Possession or ability to obtain Food Handler's certificate
- Knowledge of food production processes, product lines, and labeling
- Familiarity with safety rules and government regulations
- Strong attention to detail and leadership skills
- Effective communication, time management, and critical thinking abilities
- Proficiency with computer programs for data entry and information processing
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Job Duties
- Supervise the operation of the Hot Deli department from product preparation to inventory control to increase sales
- Ensure team members provide excellent customer service and handle customer feedback effectively
- Use company systems to track sales and inventory and conduct monthly physical inventory counts
- Assist in supervising Omni channel services and perform accounting, administrative, maintenance, and marketing duties
- Make reasonable product orders and check quality and quantity upon receiving products
- Distribute, refill, and rotate deliveries and stock products using FIFO methods
- Supervise decorating with attractive displays, proper signage, and promotional materials to drive sales
- Monitor and safeguard store department assets, report accidents or incidents to management
- Maintain safe and sanitary work environments in compliance with regulations
- Maintain and clean equipment regularly and coordinate necessary maintenance
- Manage product expiration dates to remove expired products and replenish stock timely
- Plan and execute promotion events and product demos according to company procedures
