As a Cook, the individual is responsible for preparing Hot Choice Buffet offerings which include carving and display cooking products. Duties include grilling items to the exact Golden Corral standards, ensuring all fried products are fresh and hot continually, and stepping in to assist the Buffet Attendant or Carver as necessary. This position requires the effective use of the buffet production system to maintain quality and shelf-life compliance. Operational excellence is a significant aspect of the job, with responsibilities including maintaining the correct temperature for all products during cooking, holding, and serving, conducting opening and closing administrative procedures, performing regular equipment maintenance, and managing inventory with accuracy.

Cleanliness is paramount at Golden Corral, and the Cook must ensure the Hot Cook area and smallwares are spotless, with dishes checked for cleanliness before use.
