Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable hotel that prides itself on delivering exceptional hospitality and seamless guest experiences. Recognized in the hospitality industry for its commitment to quality service, the hotel offers a dynamic work environment where associates play a vital role in upholding the brand's standards and ensuring guest satisfaction. This establishment features a modern dining area, comprehensive food and beverage services, and a welcoming atmosphere designed to make every guest feel valued and cared for. Working at this hotel provides employees with opportunities for professional growth, inclusive culture, and a chance to be part of a dedicated team focused on excellence in hotel operations and guest services.
The role of Hostperson/Cashier is essential to the smooth operation of the hotel's dining and food service areas. This position is responsible for greeting and welcoming guests with a friendly and courteous demeanor, ensuring they have a pleasant and enjoyable experience from the moment they enter the dining area. The hostperson/cashier also handles point-of-sale transactions, providing prompt and accurate cashier service. This includes processing payments, making change, and managing orders efficiently using the property's management system. Not only is this role customer-facing, but it also involves important operational duties such as maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area, restocking supplies, and closing out shifts properly to prepare for the next service period.
The position requires associates to have a strong sense of honesty and trustworthiness, as they have access to guestrooms and various hotel areas. Passing company security clearances is mandatory to ensure guest safety and property security. Candidates should bring prior experience in food and beverage roles, ideally with at least one year of relevant experience, and previous cashier experience within chain food or retail environments is highly preferred. The job demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for up to eight hours, lift up to 30 pounds, and push or pull up to 60 pounds unassisted.
This role requires excellent communication and multitasking skills, a professional and friendly attitude, and the ability to operate computer systems for billing and posting charges. The associate must be knowledgeable about hotel standards, daily operations, emergency procedures, and local area attractions to assist guests effectively. Furthermore, the hostperson/cashier is expected to contribute to the promotion of the hotel's services, helping increase exposure and sales through positive guest interactions.
The work schedule may include varied shifts, weekends, and holidays, requiring flexibility and a reliable presence onsite. The hotel values its associates and offers clear paths for career advancement, including opportunities to move into supervisory or management roles within the food and beverage department. This role not only offers a chance to engage in a friendly, professional environment but also to grow within a thriving hospitality company.
