Job Description
Langham Hospitality Group is a prestigious and globally acclaimed hospitality company, operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Great Eagle Holdings. The group encompasses a unique portfolio of distinguished brands including The Langham Hotels and Resorts, Cordis Hotels and Resorts, Eaton Workshop, and Ying'nFlo. With an expansive footprint covering Asia, Europe, North America, Australasia, and the Middle East, Langham Hospitality Group manages over 40 hotels and residences that exemplify luxury and exceptional guest service. This extensive network of properties allows the company to cater to a diverse client base and maintain a reputation for excellence and innovation in the hospitality industry. Committed to fostering open and genuine interactions, LHG places a strong emphasis on creating memorable experiences for guests and nurturing a respectful, engaging workplace for its employees. Across four continents, the company invests in the development and career growth of its team members to ensure the highest standards are consistently met.
The Hostperson role within Langham Hospitality Group is integral to the Food and Beverage team, helping to maintain the company’s renowned brand and service standards. This position demands a hospitable, welcoming, and friendly demeanor, as the hostperson is often the first point of contact for guests arriving at the restaurant. Besides greeting and seating guests, the role requires managing telephone communications, taking and managing reservations, and handling guest requests effectively. The hostperson ensures that every interaction aligns with Langham’s commitment to outstanding guest service.
In addition to guest interaction, the hostperson is responsible for operational tasks such as stocking menus and ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the restaurant, particularly at closing time. Flexibility in working hours is essential, including availability during the morning shifts and operating hours of the restaurant. The role also includes supporting colleagues such as servers, bussers, and bartenders by assisting with various tasks as needed, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality service delivery.
Skill requirements for the position include proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, as well as the ability to interpret and use various sources of information like procedural documents and reports. The hostperson should possess decision-making capabilities to handle minor judgments and prioritize workload effectively without direct supervision. Previous experience in a related role is preferred to better manage the pressures and demands of a busy restaurant environment. Remaining calm and professional under pressure, working well within a team, and maintaining a positive attitude are essential traits that Langham Hospitality Group values highly in this role.
The physical demands of the hostperson position require standing for the entire shift, along with activities such as reaching, grasping, lifting items up to 10 pounds, walking, squatting, and bending. Adherence to the hotel’s grooming standards and dress code is a critical aspect of presenting a polished and professional image aligned with the brand.
With competitive pay ranging from $33.55 to $33.85 per hour, the Hostperson role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to join a world-class hospitality group. Langham Hospitality Group supports its employees with various perks such as public transportation subsidies, a 401k match, tuition reimbursement, medical benefits, and a referral incentive program, creating a comprehensive support system that encourages career growth and personal wellbeing within a dynamic and esteemed global company.
