Job Description

Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, one of the most recognizable and beloved Australian-themed dining establishments in the United States. Outback Steakhouse first opened its doors in March 1988 and has since been known for its unique blend of high-quality food, friendly atmosphere, and memorable dining experiences. Out West Restaurant Group takes pride in upholding this legacy by delivering an exceptional customer experience and fostering a supportive culture for its employees, known affectionately as "Outbackers." The company emphasizes a philosophy of treating people "Just Right," which has contributed to its strong reputation for respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm among staff and guests alike.

Outback Steakhouse is more than just a place to enjoy great food; it is a community where employees are trained to be the best in their roles and customers are welcomed like guests in a friend’s home. The culture at Outback encourages team members to go above and beyond in all interactions, focusing on genuine hospitality and hospitality-driven service. Out West Restaurant Group continually seeks dedicated and fun-loving individuals who want to contribute to making each dining experience exceptional while growing their careers in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The Host/Server Assistant position at Outback Steakhouse is essential to maintaining the high standards of service and customer satisfaction. This role involves exceeding customer expectations by providing friendly, prompt, and attentive service tailored to the preferences of each guest. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player who embraces the company’s "No Rules, Just Right" approach, which empowers team members to take initiative and make things happen to ensure guests have a remarkable experience.

Key responsibilities include greeting guests warmly upon arrival and departure, efficiently seating them in the dining and bar areas, and ensuring a smooth transition to the serving staff. The Host/Server Assistant must possess a general knowledge of the menu offerings to recommend and upsell food and beverages, enhancing the dining experience and contributing to overall sales. Additionally, this role requires the ability to entertain guests during wait times by offering beverages and food tastings when appropriate.

Beyond guest interaction, the Host/Server Assistant is responsible for answering phones promptly and professionally, assisting with bussing tables, delivering food and drinks, and supporting other restaurant team members to ensure a seamless operation. A commitment to safety is crucial, including adherence to food handling, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards throughout each shift. Teamwork is a cornerstone of the Outback culture, and every Outbacker plays a vital role in delivering the signature "WOW" moments that customers cherish.

Joining the Out West Restaurant Group as a Host/Server Assistant represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in hospitality. The company values enthusiasm, respect, and a passion for service, providing a supportive environment where employees can thrive and advance their careers. If you enjoy working in a fun, dynamic atmosphere and are committed to delivering outstanding customer service, this position is a perfect fit. Outback Steakhouse is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming diverse talent to join the family and contribute to its ongoing success.
