Job Description

Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, a well-known Australian-themed restaurant chain that first opened its doors in March 1988. Outback Steakhouse is recognized for its commitment to delivering high-quality food with a fun and welcoming atmosphere. As part of Out West Restaurant Group, we take pride in maintaining a culture centered around respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm. Our philosophy is simple: if you treat people 'Just Right,' success is guaranteed. This core value drives everything we do, from how we treat our guests to how we support and train our team members, whom we affectionately call "Outbackers." We believe that by fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and positive energy, we make every dining experience memorable for both our customers and employees.

The role of Host/Server Assistant at Outback Steakhouse is critical in ensuring that guests receive friendly, prompt, and attentive service tailored to their individual preferences. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic and team-oriented environment, where hospitality goes beyond expectations. The Host/Server Assistant serves as the welcoming face of the restaurant, greeting guests warmly as they arrive and ensuring they are comfortably seated in the dining or bar areas. This role involves maintaining smooth communication and coordination with service staff to ensure guests receive timely and attentive care throughout their visit.

Additionally, the Host/Server Assistant needs to have a general understanding of our food and drink menus to effectively recommend dishes and upsell items, enhancing the guest's dining experience. During busy periods or wait times, this role also involves keeping guests entertained with exceptional hospitality, which may include offering beverages or food tastings. Handling phone inquiries professionally and directing calls as needed forms an important part of the role, helping to maintain efficient restaurant operations.

Beyond greeting and seating, the Host/Server Assistant is a vital team player who assists throughout the restaurant, including bussing tables, delivering food and beverages, and supporting other staff members. Every opportunity to WOW a customer is embraced, reflecting our commitment to outstanding customer service. Safety and sanitation are also priorities; the Host/Server Assistant is responsible for ensuring compliance with safe food handling practices and maintaining cleanliness throughout their shift.

Outback Steakhouse offers an environment that encourages fun, dedication, and growth. We are committed to equal employment opportunities and welcome individuals who share our passion for hospitality and teamwork to join us in continuing to make Outback Steakhouse a favorite dining destination for guests and a rewarding workplace for our employees.
