We are currently looking to hire a Host/Hostess/Lead Host who will serve as the first and last impression of our restaurant. This critical role involves greeting guests warmly, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations in the front-of-house. The ideal candidate will be friendly, organized, and proactive, capable of handling multiple responsibilities from managing waitlists to maintaining cleanliness in key areas such as the host station, storefront, patio, and restrooms. This role not only focuses on guest interaction but also requires overseeing the maintenance of a clean and polished environment, helping to uphold the restaurant's standards and reputation. You will play a key part in creating a welcoming atmosphere, assisting with reservations across multiple platforms, answering phones, processing to-go orders, and supporting other front-of-house duties when necessary. This position also involves participation in pre-shift meetings and ongoing service training, ensuring continuous improvement and team cohesion. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to work part-time hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- excellent communication skills
- friendly and professional demeanor
- ability to organize and multitask under pressure
- food handler certification if required by local laws
- willingness to participate in training and team meetings
Job Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- strong attention to detail
- ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- able to safely lift and carry up to 20-25 lbs
- food handler certification if required by local regulations
- familiarity with Toast, OpenTable, and/or Resy is a plus
- ability to use hands and fingers frequently
- ability to handle moderate to high noise levels
- safety-conscious in adherence to dress code and equipment use
Job Duties
- Greet guests warmly as they enter
- manage the waitlist
- seat guests while balancing table rotation for servers
- organize reservations from different platforms into OpenTable
- provide menus and answer initial menu questions
- engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service
- answer phone calls
- take reservations
- process to-go orders
- handle delivery app orders
- respond to guest concerns professionally
- assist with bussing tables and other front-of-house tasks as needed
- attend pre-shift meetings and ongoing service training
- maintain a clean and fully stocked host station
- clean storefront windows and doors
- set up and maintain promotional materials
- keep the outdoor patio area clean and ensure fountain and plants are well maintained
- check and clean restrooms regularly
- ensure outside of restaurant is clean and presentable at all times
