Within this vibrant setting, the role of a full-time Host at Willow & Ivy represents an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of guest interactions and dining experiences. Willow & Ivy is one of three distinguished dining outlets at The Lenox, offering refined New England–inspired American cuisine crafted under the leadership of Executive Chef Daniel Kenney. The restaurant stands out for its fresh, inviting ambiance and commitment to delivering an exceptional culinary journey. The Host position is pivotal in setting the tone for the dining experience, serving as the initial point of contact and ensuring that each guest feels warmly welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive. This role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and enjoys engaging with diverse guests to make their experience memorable.

In addition to greeting guests, the Host manages reservations and guest flow to facilitate smooth and efficient service across all three outlets—Sweeney's on Boylston, known for its spirited and authentic Irish classics; The Irving, a cozy cocktail lounge with vintage charm; and Willow & Ivy itself. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a polished and professional demeanor, assisting the service team when needed, and ensuring that the host stations and equipment are impeccably organized and guest-ready. This is a customer-focused role that demands excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to anticipate and exceed guest expectations, enhancing the hospitality experience across The Lenox's diverse and vibrant dining venues. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year hospitality experience preferably in food and beverage
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to use POS systems like Toast
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Availability to work Sundays

Job Qualifications

  • Strong verbal communication skills in English
  • multilingual candidates are a plus
  • At least 1 year of experience in hospitality, preferably in a food & beverage department
  • Familiarity with Toast or similar POS systems is helpful
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Sunday availability is required

Job Duties

  • Create a warm, memorable first impression for every guest
  • Manage reservations and guest flow to ensure timely, seamless service
  • Answer phone inquiries and reservations
  • Maintain exceptional service standards and a polished, professional demeanor
  • Assist the service team by clearing and resetting tables as needed
  • Keep host stations and equipment clean, organized, and guest-ready
