Job Description
The Lenox Hotel, established in 1900, stands as a beloved and independent landmark in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Renowned for its unique character, creativity, and genuine hospitality, The Lenox prides itself on being more than just a place to stay for travelers—it's a home away from home. Throughout its rich history, the hotel has cultivated a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel genuinely valued and cared for. This commitment to excellence is reflected not only in the accommodations but also in the personalized service provided by the hotel's dedicated team members. The Lenox’s reputation for top-tier hospitality continues to draw visitors who seek an authentic Boston experience characterized by warmth and attention to detail.
The Lenox is currently seeking a part-time Host to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who embodies energy, curiosity, and a passion for exceptional food, drink, and engaging conversation. The position demands a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building meaningful connections with guests from diverse backgrounds. Hospitality at The Lenox is treated as both an art form and a collaborative effort, and the Host plays a pivotal role in setting the tone for guests’ dining experiences across three distinct dining outlets.
As a Host at The Lenox, you will do much more than welcome and seat guests—you will be at the forefront of delivering a memorable and seamless dining journey. The position requires managing the flow of service to ensure efficiency and a welcoming ambiance. You’ll support the team by facilitating smooth operations in lively venues such as Sweeney’s on Boylston, known for its spirited atmosphere and authentic Irish cuisine; The Irving at The Lenox, a sophisticated cocktail bar with an early 20th-century aesthetic celebrated for its crafted cocktails and intriguing experience; and Willow & Ivy, a refined restaurant showcasing New England-inspired American cuisine under the leadership of Executive Chef Daniel Kenney. This variety offers a vibrant work environment where the host engages with different guest experiences, contributing significantly to the overall guest satisfaction.
This part-time role offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $22, depending on experience. The position requires flexibility, including availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays, to meet the needs of a bustling hospitality scene. Joining The Lenox means becoming part of a team that values thoughtful, memorable interactions with guests and working in an environment that encourages both personal and professional growth. If you are passionate about hospitality, eager to create welcoming experiences, and skilled in managing fast-paced service environments, this opportunity promises a rewarding career within a respected and historic Boston hotel.
