Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum six months experience in food service or customer service
- Food Handlers Certificate required within 30 days of employment
- Ability to comply with hygiene and PPE standards
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work rotating PRN shifts
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment maintaining professionalism and quality
- Ability to perform duties as assigned by supervisors
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months experience in a food service or applicable customer service role
- One year of food service experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days
- Ability to read basic math and written English
- Cooperative discreet and courteous in handling customers
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Positive customer service attributes
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and quality service
Job Duties
- Serve patient meals assisting with set up and prepare snacks accurately and timely according to procedures
- Return to patient rooms promptly to pick up dirty trays and confirm patient satisfaction
- Comply with hand hygiene patient identification and personal protective equipment requirements
- Utilize basic diet therapy training to assist patients in selecting correct menu items
- Maintain food safety requirements according to HACCP and department standards in all duties
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas ensuring compliance with health department and facility standards
- Monitor prepare and deliver floor stock to designated units following FIFO principles and check for expired or prohibited items
- Check and log refrigerator and freezer temperatures on nursing units
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills at point of service and in resolving complaints concerns and questions
- Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
