The position of Host/Hostess at the Capital One Lounge LAS located on 5757 Wayne Newton Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89119, offers a full-time opportunity with a pay range of $19.00 to $21.00 per hour. This role is pivotal in setting the tone for guests’ dining experiences by managing seating arrangements efficiently and providing excellent customer service. The Host/Hostess will be engaged in greeting guests warmly, managing dining room seating logistics, and assisting in creating a safe, welcoming, and clean environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, flexibility, patience, and a genuine interest in people, which helps in handling customer service situations promptly and tactfully.

Hosts and Hostesses will also contribute to the smooth operation of the dining room by supervising food-service associates to ensure proper food handling and cleanliness, assisting with service functions when necessary, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards. The position includes responsibilities like training new staff, managing closing procedures for the dining area, and participating in emergency safety drills to protect guests and associates.

Job Requirements

  • Previous hospitality experience preferred
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required in the dining environment

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet and direct guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements
  • Help create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean and neat environment for guests and other associates
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills
  • Get along well with others, demonstrate flexibility and patience
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared
  • Supervise the activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures are followed
  • Help train new food-service team members
  • Supervise the closing of the assigned dining room
  • ensure side work and station setup is properly completed
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and help evacuate guests to safety in the event of fire or other emergency
  • Assist with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Operate equipment as needed, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • Collaborate with staff of other departments to perform job duties and during special events or functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
