Job Description
Our healthcare facility is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and a supportive work environment that fosters growth, respect, and collaboration. As a trusted provider within the medical community, we uphold a commitment to excellence in all aspects of healthcare, placing patient well-being and comfort at the forefront of our mission. This hospital operates with a focus on integrating compassionate care with innovative practices, ensuring that every patient receives personalized attention tailored to their unique needs. We understand the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork and the critical role that each staff member plays in delivering high-quality service. We value diversity and promote an inclusive culture where all employees are respected, supported, and empowered to make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
The full-time Host/Hostess role is integral to our food service and nutrition department, contributing directly to the positive dining experience of our patients. This position involves providing a high-quality dining service adapted to meet the nutritional requirements and preferences of patients. Serving as the liaison between patients and the food service team, the Host/Hostess plays a vital role in communication—coordinating patient needs between nursing units, dietitians, and kitchen staff to ensure accurate meal delivery and satisfaction. The position requires covering a 40-hour work week, with shifts alternating every other weekend and holiday, requiring flexibility for occasional adjustments to cover colleagues' absences. Typical weekday hours run from 7am to 3:30pm, with weekend hours from 6am to 2:30pm. The Host/Hostess is also responsible for assisting patients with room service when appropriate and delivering meal trays to assigned patients.
This role calls for excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in customer service and food service settings, along with a strong commitment to maintaining the standards of a healing and welcoming culture. The work involves some physical demands such as standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling within an industrial and clinical environment classified as Exposure Class I or II. The candidate must be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and able to handle stressful situations with grace and professionalism. Compensation ranges from $16.20 to $23.50 per hour, dependent on experience, skills, and education. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care through exceptional service delivery.
