The Host/Hostess position at the CoStar Food Hall in Richmond, VA, offers a full-time opportunity for those with previous hospitality experience. Scheduled generally from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with varying days, this role is integral to creating a welcoming environment and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience. The pay range for this position is competitive, ranging from $17.00 to $28.00 per hour, reflecting both the responsibility and the skills required. The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, managing seating arrangements and addressing any customer service situations professionally and promptly. Job Requirements
- Previous hospitality experience is required

Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet and direct guests to their tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements
- Help create an overall enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean and neat environment for guests and other associates
- Exhibit exceptional communications skills and get along well with others demonstrating flexibility and patience
- Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests
- Supervise activities of food-service associates in the dining room to ensure proper customer service, food handling and sanitation procedures
- Help train new food-service team members
- Supervise the closing of the assigned dining room and ensure side work and station setup are properly completed
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and assist with guest evacuation during emergencies
- Assist with service including occasional bussing and food service while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- Operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
- Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties and during special events or functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
