Job Description
Trilogy at The Polo Club is a premier lifestyle and recreational facility located along the highly acclaimed Avenue 52, straddling the border of La Quinta and Indio, California. This expansive club spans over 25,000 square feet and offers a wide variety of amenities designed to promote social interaction, wellness, and leisure. Among its highlights are a feature restaurant named June Hill's Table, the 2Palms Event Center, fitness facilities, multiple pools, and extensive outdoor recreational spaces. The club's setting atop a gentle rise provides panoramic views of the scenic Santa Rosa Mountains to the southwest and the Chocolate Mountains to the north, making it a picturesque destination for both members and public visitors.
Trilogy at The Polo Club emphasizes quality service and hospitality, with the restaurant and event center open to the public for dining reservations and private event bookings. The club embodies a lifestyle that combines relaxation, active recreation, and memorable social experiences in an elegant ambiance.
The Host or Hostess position is a vital role within the Food & Beverage team at Trilogy at The Polo Club, with a primary focus on ensuring guests receive a warm and energetic welcome upon arrival. This part-time role offers $16.90 per hour and requires the individual to coordinate guest seating efficiently, balancing server availability and guest comfort to maintain a smooth dining experience. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Host or Hostess acts as the first point of contact, setting the tone for excellent hospitality throughout the guest’s visit.
Key responsibilities include greeting and serving guests energetically, managing the seating flow, providing detailed knowledge about the resort and menu, handling reservations and to-go orders over the phone, assisting servers with table clearing and drink refills, accurately processing payments, and maintaining vigilance for potential safety issues.
Candidates in this role are expected to exemplify strong customer orientation, teamwork, and the ability to perform well under pressure while multitasking effectively. Trilogy at The Polo Club is committed to living by BlueStar’s core values — honesty and integrity, respect for the individual, teamwork, and competitive spirit — all of which the Host/Hostess must embody and uphold.
This position provides new full-time team members (working 30 hours or more weekly) eligibility for medical, dental, and life insurance after 60 days of employment. Part-time employees accrue paid sick leave as per state guidelines. Additionally, the company offers a 401(k) plan available to all employees over 21 after 30 days of service, paid holidays, and paid time off, supporting a comprehensive employee benefits package.
Working conditions include primarily indoor restaurant settings, with occasional outdoor event involvement where mobility and adaptability to various weather conditions and environmental elements are necessary. The role is physically active and requires standing and walking for extended periods, with the ability to carry trays weighing up to 20 pounds. The schedule demands flexibility, including availability for evenings and weekends, making this position ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic, guest-focused environments.
Overall, the Host or Hostess at Trilogy at The Polo Club offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, looking to engage guests in a vibrant and upscale setting, and seeking a role that provides flexibility alongside meaningful benefits.
