The Host position at White Lodging is vital to ensuring an outstanding guest experience within their restaurant and bar venues. Hosts are the first point of contact for guests and play a crucial role in setting the welcoming tone. The job entails greeting guests warmly and professionally, managing reservations efficiently, and skillfully assigning servers and seating tables to optimize service flow. Hosts also maintain the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant entryway, engage fully in side work tasks, and act as key team players who promote a friendly, safe, and collaborative work environment.

In this role, hosts are expected to be knowledgeable about all menu items, including their ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation, enabling them to confidently provide accurate answers to guest inquiries. A successful host embodies a sociable personality with excellent communication and listening skills, and demonstrates resilience in handling busy periods with a positive, can-do attitude. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Flexibility is required to cover shifts on weekends, nights, and holidays as necessary.

  • Maintain a neat and professional personal appearance as a brand ambassador
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items, contents, preparation methods, and garnishes
  • Accurately answer guest questions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
