As a host or hostess at Truluck's Dallas Uptown location, your role is pivotal in setting the tone for each guest’s visit. You will be the welcoming face of the restaurant, ensuring that every patron feels valued, comfortable, and well-attended from the moment they arrive. This position demands a blend of politeness, enthusiasm, and organizational skills coupled with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure. Hosts and hostesses need to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and co-workers, maintaining a high level of courtesy regardless of the situation. Familiarity with the OpenTable reservation system is essential, as is maintaining professional phone etiquette when managing reservation inquiries and guest communications.

The host or hostess will play a key role in supporting the flow of the restaurant by greeting and seating guests promptly, managing wait times transparently, and maintaining an orderly and inviting front entrance area. Beyond these primary tasks, the role includes duties such as assisting in table maintenance, staying up to date on promotional events, and effectively communicating guest requests or special occasions to servers and leadership to enhance the personalized hospitality offered. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for 9 hours

Job Duties

  • Perform host stand set-up running side work and closing duties
  • Display Southern hospitality
  • Be the positive and uplifting first and last impression for guests
  • Greet and seat guests in an organized professional and friendly fashion
  • Properly record reservations and quote wait periods
  • Maintain cleanliness of front entry way
  • Assist in table maintenance when able
  • Stay current with all upcoming promotional events
  • Always friendly and courteous
  • Communicate all guest requests special occasions to server and or Leader on Duty
  • Maintain clean and professional appearance
  • Work with "Teamwork" always in mind
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Leadership Team
