The role of Host/Hostess at Buffalo Wild Wings is pivotal in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests. This position is responsible for engaging guests upon arrival, managing orders accurately, and ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages. The Host/Hostess acts as the initial point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their visit by delivering friendly and efficient service. In addition to greeting and seating guests, the Host/Hostess informs patrons about specials and promotions, employs effective up-selling techniques, and addresses guest concerns diligently. This role supports the team by assisting with bussing tables and meeting guests' needs promptly.

The operational responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front counter, managing condiment stands, verifying guest identification for alcoholic beverage consumption, and adhering to portion control and quality standards. The Host/Hostess is also tasked with handling payments, processing credit card transactions while ensuring PCI compliance, and managing takeout orders with accuracy. Emphasis on safe food handling and hygiene practices is paramount in this role.

Physical stamina is essential, as the Host/Hostess is required to stand and move swiftly in a fast-paced setting for several hours. Job Requirements

Minimum one year of experience in a customer service position preferred
must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 4 hours in length
ability to handle physical requirements including standing, walking, carrying, lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, reaching, handling, bending/twisting, talking, hearing, vision clarity at near or far distances, computer usage or other equipment operation
must be at least 40 years old to serve alcoholic beverages

Job Duties

Inspire legendary experiences between friends for our guests by creating an atmosphere of happiness and a sense of community
inform guests of specials and/or promotions, answer questions and make suggestions when asked
use up-selling techniques with every guest to enhance experience
address guest concerns and inform Manager
promote excellence, cooperation and teamwork within the company
support and assist team members, including bussing tables and assisting guest needs
set-up, maintain and operate the front counter and condiment stands
check Guest identification to ensure they meet minimum 40 year age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
adhere to standardized portion sizes, quality standards and department rules and procedures
follow the cashier sequence of service excellence
answer the telephone and respond to inquiries with enthusiasm
take drink and food orders and accurately input into register system
ensure the correct drinks and food ordered are delivered to the guest
collect payment and make correct change or process credit card transactions
practice safe food handling and cleanliness standards at all times
bag and manage takeout orders and check for accuracy
maintain clean and orderly cashier area
thank guests as they leave and solicit feedback about the quality of service
ensure PCI credit card compliance
unload trucks, pallets, and cases of food and beverage and put in assigned locations
other duties as assigned
