The Food Services Department at Cambridge Health Alliance plays a vital role in delivering quality nutrition to patients, staff, and visitors through fresh, wholesome meals designed to meet a wide range of dietary needs. As part of this dynamic team, the Food Service Worker position offers a per diem on-call opportunity working various shift lengths (4 or 8 hours) across multiple time frames throughout the day. This role focuses on preparing, assembling, and delivering nutritious patient meals as well as assisting with dietary requirements and menu selections. Food Service Workers are essential to patient well-being, helping to ensure each individual receives the appropriate food consistent with their medical and dietary restrictions.

Employees in this role work under the CH Laborers 380 union and may be required to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, reflecting the department’s commitment to providing uninterrupted nutritional support. Duties involve direct interaction with patients to guide meal choices, proper stocking of nursing unit pantries, maintaining kitchen sanitation standards, and accurate documentation of temperatures and dietary information using digital tools.
