Job Description
Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a unique dining establishment rooted deeply in the spirit of hard work, camaraderie, and passion. Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by two LSU walk-on basketball players, Walk-On's started from humble beginnings, built without scholarships or guarantees but driven by determination and teamwork. This restaurant is more than just a place to dine; it embodies the underdog spirit and the relentless hustle of its founders. Since its inception, Walk-On's has expanded into a nationally recognized brand celebrated for its scratch-made dishes infused with Louisiana flair and a vibrant game-day atmosphere that draws guests back time and again. The culture emphasizes treating every team member as family, fostering an environment where energy, passion, and pride are the cornerstones of every shift.
At Walk-On's, every role, from kitchen staff to front-of-house team members, plays a vital part in delivering unforgettable guest experiences. The host/hostess position is integral to this mission, serving as the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone with warm welcomes, smiles, and efficient service. This part-time, non-exempt role reports to the Manager on Duty and is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Whether managing takeout orders, seating guests, or assisting teammates across various tasks, the host/hostess contributes directly to maintaining the high-energy, gameday atmosphere that defines Walk-On's. The role demands a friendly, customer-focused attitude, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to following company policies and state laws regarding alcohol service.
Walk-On's offers flexible part-time hours, making this an ideal opportunity for students or others balancing outside commitments. The team culture encourages growth, offering opportunities to advance within the Walk-On's family. This position not only focuses on guest service but also on maintaining cleanliness, handling payments, and supporting all aspects of restaurant operations. The company prioritizes compliance with all relevant safety and alcohol service regulations, ensuring a safe and professional work environment.
Joining Walk-On's means being part of a fun, dynamic team where every member's contribution is valued, and collective success is celebrated. It's a place where hardworking individuals can find camaraderie, develop new skills, and share in a winning spirit that extends beyond the game-day excitement to a broader culture of hospitality and mutual support.
