Job Description
Miller's Ale House is a well-established American restaurant and sports bar chain known for its casual dining atmosphere, extensive menu offerings, and commitment to outstanding guest experiences. With a welcoming environment that caters to sports fans and families alike, Miller's Ale House has built a reputation for a fast-paced, fun setting where team members are valued for their unique personalities and commitment to excellence. The company champions an inclusive culture that encourages integrity, an unwavering drive for quality service, and a dedication to doing the right thing consistently. The workplace fosters open-door communication and offers numerous opportunities for career advancement, making it an attractive destination for individuals seeking to grow within the hospitality industry. Employees benefit from robust health insurance options, dining privileges with a 50% discount, and a supportive team environment where every role contributes significantly to the guest's overall experience.
The role of Host/Hostess at Miller's Ale House is pivotal as the first point of contact for guests entering the establishment. This position requires a warm, upbeat, and energetic approach to greeting guests and setting the tone for their visit. Hosts are responsible for managing guest seating preferences, rotating seating arrangements to balance workloads among servers, providing accurate wait times, and ensuring all guest interactions are friendly and professional. Beyond guest interaction, the role includes supporting service team members by assisting with bussing dishes and resetting tables, maintaining a neat and organized entrance area, and completing opening and closing side work. Because service quality and guest satisfaction are top priorities, hosts also handle communication duties, such as answering incoming calls and notifying management of any potential guest or staff issues.
Safety and sanitation are integral components of the Host/Hostess role, with expectations including maintaining clean work areas and adhering to handwashing and sanitization protocols. Teamwork and communication skills are critical as hosts work closely with front-of-house staff and management to ensure a seamless guest experience. The dynamic, fast-paced environment requires multitasking abilities, a positive attitude, and a commitment to exceptional service throughout the shift. Physical requirements include standing and walking for extended periods, reaching, bending, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds. Miller's Ale House values the contributions of hosts who take initiative and are dedicated to upholding the brand's standards of excellence in hospitality.
