The part-time Host position at Riverhouse Lodge presents a tremendous opportunity for someone passionate about hospitality and eager to launch or grow their career in the food and beverage industry. The Host acts as the vital first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant, setting the tone for their dining experience and embodying the spirit of hospitality. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, an engaging and welcoming personality, and the ability to handle high-paced situations with grace and efficiency. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly upon arrival, managing seating assignments, coordinating waitlist and reservations, and supporting the overall service delivery to ensure guests have memorable experiences. This position also offers invaluable exposure to the operations of a world-class hotel restaurant and the chance to develop skills in customer engagement, communication, and hospitality service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours
  • Effective interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Greet guests as they arrive or move about the restaurant area
  • Monitoring the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables
  • Estimating wait times for guests and monitoring the guest waiting list
  • Ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting
  • Answering the telephone, booking reservations and moving tables together to accommodate large parties
