Job Description

HMSHost is a global leader in the hospitality industry, specializing in the management and operation of food and beverage concessions in travel venues such as airports, highways, and amusement parks. The company is renowned for its expansive network of restaurants and food service outlets, delivering exceptional dining experiences to millions of travelers and visitors every day. HMSHost's commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction has made it a trusted name in global hospitality services.

At HMSHost, the belief is that success comes from earning the trust and loyalty of its people. This ethos is deeply embedded in the company culture, creating a workplace environment that values diversity, inclusion, and employee development. Working at HMSHost means being part of a dynamic team where you feel you belong, engage in work you can be proud of, and enjoy opportunities for career advancement. The company offers competitive wages, comprehensive benefits, and recognition programs to reward great performance, ensuring employees are motivated and well-supported.

The Host/Hostess role at HMSHost is pivotal in shaping the guest experience in the restaurant setting. Operating mostly in airport or travel-related venues, the Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting and seating them promptly and courteously. This non-exempt position, typically reporting to the Store Manager, demands excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic attitude. Beyond greeting guests, the Host/Hostess may also take on additional responsibilities such as ringing up orders, refilling beverages, setting and cleaning tables, thereby supporting the smooth operation of the dining area.

The ideal candidate for this role will excel in managing seating arrangements, maintaining dining room readiness, and ensuring high service standards are met throughout the guest’s visit. They play a crucial role in coordinating between the kitchen and floor staff to deliver timely food and beverage service and are often required to perform cashier duties to expedite guest checkouts. HMSHost emphasizes thorough training and career growth opportunities for this position, making it an excellent starting point for those passionate about hospitality and customer service.

HMSHost also provides an attractive starting wage of $18.20 per hour for Host/Hostess positions, reflecting their commitment to fair compensation. Employees enjoy an array of benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off encompassing vacation and sick leave, holiday pay, meal and transportation benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, company-paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and an employee assistance program. There are also promotional opportunities and a referral bonus program for recommending friends to join the company.

Working at HMSHost is more than a job — it is a commitment to hospitality excellence and an opportunity to help travelers feel good on the move. Those who join HMSHost’s family of restaurants are encouraged to bring energy and positivity to their role, contribute to a team-oriented environment, and build a rewarding career in one of the world’s most respected hospitality organizations.
