We are currently seeking a professional and personable Host/Ess to join our team. This crucial role serves as the face of our restaurant, responsible for creating a positive first impression and ensuring every guest feels warmly welcomed, whether in person or on the phone. The Host/Ess will manage the seating of guests with the dual goal of optimizing guest satisfaction and maximizing sales opportunities. This position demands an individual who excels under pressure, demonstrates strong communication skills, and has a natural ability for hospitality. Responsibilities include maintaining high hospitality standards, employing "name magic" to personalize guest interactions, efficiently handling guest requests and complaints, and exemplifying professional appearance and behavior. Other duties involve performing housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness in the front areas, managing reservation systems with accuracy, coordinating smoothly with management and team members, and providing thorough knowledge of the restaurant's services and policies to assist and inform guests. Candidates need to be dependable, punctual, and flexible with shifts, as well as capable of working cooperatively within the team. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.00 and benefits for eligible employees. Job Duties

  • Exemplifying hospitality standards, practicing name magic, handling requests and complaints with guest satisfaction as priority
  • adhering to standards of personal cleanliness and professional appearance
  • cooperating with management and co-workers, assisting others with duties if needed, communicating suggestions for improvement, contributing to sales meetings
  • performing designated set-up and housekeeping duties, including maintaining organization of front desk, station chart preparations, reservation sheets, menus, and maintaining cleanliness of windows, foyer area, floors, and restrooms
  • using proper telephone etiquette and techniques, managing reservations and referral of inquiries
  • functioning as an information center, demonstrating knowledge of products, services, hours of operation, large party procedures, events, application procedures, gift certificates, directions, and local area information
  • performing greeting and seating functions competently, including managing dining room occupancy, guest seating, pacing, carrying guests' cocktails, pulling out chairs, handing menus, and conducting table checks efficiently
  • coordinating efforts with other service personnel to maximize efficiency
  • verifying server cash reports, maintaining security, handling cash responsibly, and maintaining check control
