Job Description
Native Restaurant is a renowned dining establishment known for its commitment to exceptional guest service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. As a well-established restaurant, Native prides itself on providing a high-quality dining experience where every guest is treated with respect and an unparalleled level of hospitality. The restaurant operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where customer satisfaction is paramount. Native offers a menu rich with delicious options, complemented by thoughtful presentation and attentive service, making it a preferred destination for both locals and visitors. The restaurant’s dedication to excellence extends to every aspect of the guest experience, from the moment a guest arrives to when they leave, ensuring every detail contributes to an enjoyable visit.
The role of Host at Native Restaurant is pivotal in creating that first and lasting impression guests have upon arriving. The Host is responsible for warmly greeting each guest within 15 seconds of entry, providing a sincere welcome that sets the tone for their dining experience. This position requires managing the seating flow efficiently using the floor chart and wait sheet, ensuring that guests are seated promptly and according to their preferences. Hosts maintain eye contact and engage with guests conversationally, making them feel noticed and appreciated. In addition to greeting and seating guests, the Host manages all incoming phone calls professionally, assists guests with to-go orders including taking orders over the phone, packaging, and ensuring accuracy before completion. The Host also communicates effectively with servers and bussers to maintain smooth dining room operations and is proactive in assisting the dining staff wherever possible.
Expectations for this position include managing waiting lists when the restaurant is busy, providing estimated wait times, and delivering menus and rolled silverware to seated guests. The role also involves informing guests about daily specials, soup of the day, and dessert options, as well as introducing the server who will attend to them. Beyond guest interaction, the Host is responsible for completing assigned opening, during shift, and closing duties aligned with restaurant procedures, and promptly reporting any guest concerns, employee issues, or health and safety violations to management. The Host's professionalism extends to upholding house policies, such as ensuring no beverages or glassware leave the premises except non-alcoholic drinks in to-go cups, and enforcing rules about outside food and drinks.
This position suits individuals who are outgoing, organized, and dedicated to delivering impeccable customer service. The Host must be approachable and quick on their feet, capable of balancing guest flow and seating preferences to optimize the dining room’s operation. The role is crucial in supporting a team atmosphere where effective communication and collaboration contribute to overall success and guest satisfaction. Native Restaurant offers a vibrant workplace where the Host plays a key role in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for excellent service and memorable guest experiences. This employment is full-time with competitive compensation, offering an excellent opportunity to grow within the hospitality industry.
