The role available is for a Restaurant Host, a pivotal position within the front-of-house team. The primary responsibility of the Restaurant Host is to create a warm and inviting first impression for guests as they enter the restaurant. This position involves greeting guests warmly, managing reservations, maintaining an organized waitlist, and supporting inquiries from guests to ensure their needs are promptly addressed. The host also assists with coordinating seating arrangements to maintain server parity, escorts guests to their tables, and may present menus and make recommendations when appropriate.

In addition to welcoming guests and managing the flow of the dining room, the Restaurant Host plays a crucial role in liaising between guests and staff to ensure a high level of satisfaction. This includes anticipating guest needs, promptly addressing any issues that may arise, and ensuring that the environment is neat and orderly. The host is also responsible for managing telephone communications, including taking reservations and to-go orders with professional etiquette.

This role requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and courtesy. Flexibility in working hours is essential as the role may require shifts during mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting, and working in varying temperature conditions. Job Duties

  • Ensure the proper setup of dining room
  • promptly greet guests and patrons personally as they enter the establishment
  • escort guests and patrons to their table
  • present menus, make recommendations and take orders if necessary
  • ensure dining room seating is controlled and that there is server parity in number of tables
  • liaise between staff and guests to ensure guest needs, as well as expectations are exceeded
  • anticipate and address guests' service needs
  • assist individuals with disabilities
  • thank guests with genuine appreciation upon departure
  • answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
  • accept to-go orders over the telephone
  • receive and record dining reservations on the telephone
  • efficiently and effectively resolve any issues to the guest's satisfaction
  • ensure neatness and cleanliness of stations
  • assist other food and beverage staff when necessary
  • ensure personal appearance is neat and professional
  • comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
  • follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
  • bus tables and assist with processing dirty dishes if necessary
  • clean all front of the house areas including windows, light fixtures and entrance as assigned
  • fill water bottles, cut fruit, roll silverware, and complete other service-related tasks as assigned
