This position of Host at The Gallery | The Fresco is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of service excellence for which the establishment is known. The Host serves as the initial point of contact for members and their guests, greeting and escorting them to their tables with professionalism and warmth. They ensure that reservations are managed meticulously according to The Gallery | The Fresco’s Standards and Procedures and that the overall dining experience flows smoothly. This includes managing the floor plan in OpenTable, ensuring proper seating arrangements, and preventing potential reservation conflicts. The Host also enforces the club’s policies regarding attire, cell phone usage, and business conduct within the dining areas to uphold the venue’s elegant atmosphere.
Beyond greeting and seating guests, the Host plays a crucial role in communication, both with members and internal staff. By maintaining clear communication channels among management, servers, and guests, the Host helps coordinate timely and efficient service. This role also requires attentiveness to detail, such as remembering and promoting menu items and assisting members with inquiries in a courteous and knowledgeable manner. Proactive resolution of complaints and concerns is expected to foster a positive relationship with guests, ensuring repeat visits and member satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- Education or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Prior hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to obtain club-required certifications such as TiPs
- Flexibility to work varying schedules
- Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently
- Ability to move through crowded dining areas
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette
- Commitment to comply with club standards and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Any combination of education, training or experience that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Prior hospitality experience, fine dining preferred
- Ability to obtain any club-required certification or licenses such as TiPs certification
- Strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and member relations
- Ability to navigate a crowded dining room efficiently
- Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
Job Duties
- Greet and escort members and their guests to tables
- Answer telephone and take reservations per The Gallery | The Fresco standards and procedures
- Maintain a courteous and efficient presence at the door to ensure an elegant dining experience
- Manage OpenTable reservations and floor plan for accurate seating and timing
- Monitor reservation conflicts and dining room events in OpenTable
- Enforce house rules regarding attire, cell phone usage, and business conduct
- Direct calls to appropriate departments
- Follow rules of service etiquette
- Assist members, guests and co-workers in a friendly and courteous manner
