Job Description

IHOP is a globally recognized restaurant brand known for its casual dining experience and a broad menu that features an array of breakfast favorites, lunch, and dinner options. Established for several decades, IHOP has built a reputation for exceptional customer service, a welcoming atmosphere, and consistently delicious food. As part of the Dine Brands family, IHOP operates hundreds of locations throughout the United States and internationally, serving millions of guests annually. One of its key locations is situated at 3531 Washington Blvd, Ste 316, Halethorpe, MD, with the specific property referred to as 3535 Washington Blvd in Lansdowne, MD. This location maintains the brand's high standards of service and quality, providing guests with a friendly environment that caters to families, individuals, and groups alike.

The Host position at IHOP is crucial in creating an excellent first impression for guests. This role involves greeting guests as they arrive with cheerfulness and courtesy, ensuring they are seated promptly to reduce wait times and enhance their dining experience. The host or hostess is not only the face of the restaurant but also supports the operational flow by managing To-Go orders—taking, entering, and packaging them accurately and efficiently. Communication is a vital aspect of this role since hosts often answer phones, handle reservations, and address guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and warmth. Candidates must also be physically capable, as the role involves standing for long periods and occasionally lifting weights between 25 to 50 pounds, as well as performing motions like pushing, pulling, and stretching. This multifaceted responsibility requires individuals who are both personable and physically able to maintain the fast-paced environment of a popular dining establishment. By joining IHOP as a host, employees become part of a brand that values teamwork, customer satisfaction, and personal growth opportunities within the hospitality industry.
