The role of a Restaurant Host at Sea Island is essential in creating that exceptional experience that keeps guests coming back. The host serves as the first point of contact for guests upon arrival and departure, greeting them warmly and determining if they are first-time patrons or regulars. This position is pivotal in managing guest flow and seating arrangements using the Sea Island ordering, seating, and food pick-up system. Responsibilities include offering menus, explaining procedures, managing the pager system during wait times, and making personalized dish recommendations. The host also assists throughout the dining experience by refilling beverages and delivering condiments, ensuring guests' needs are met promptly. This role extends beyond guest interaction; it includes maintaining cleanliness and organization at the host stand, monitoring the dining area and bathrooms, and verifying the age of guests when selling alcoholic beverages to comply with regulations. Job Duties

  • Properly greets guests with warm welcome as they arrive in the restaurant
  • ask if guest is first-time or has been at Sea Island before
  • offer menu and explains the Sea Island ordering, seating and food pick-up system
  • explain pager and seating procedure to guests when on a wait
  • record pager number and number of guests in the party when on a wait
  • calls ticket number when table is available
  • must be familiar with the menu
  • make recommendations on popular dishes or personal favorites
  • provide extra assistance to guests with special needs such as elderly, mothers with infants, handicapped
  • responsible for filling guests’ drinks, circulating through the dining room pouring or getting refills for guests
  • keep host stand supplied and organized
  • inspect bathrooms regularly for cleanliness
  • keep tables and floors in the waiting area clean and free of debris
  • when involved in the sale of an alcoholic beverage, checks identification for age verification
  • perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by manager
