Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in restaurant or hospitality industry
  • Weekend and holiday availability
  • Able to work first, second, third, rotating shifts
  • Able to stand and walk on hard surfaces for 10-12 hours per day
  • Ability to lift and maneuver boxes up to 35 pounds
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to state law
  • Able to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and wipe
  • Able to tolerate cleaning and sanitizing products
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and positive work attitude

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in restaurant or hospitality industry preferred
  • Exceptional aptitude for guest service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Contagiously friendly, outgoing and energetic personality
  • Organized with good sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Able to think and act quickly while maintaining composure
  • Ability to meet all scheduling requirements
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn Silver Diner’s standards and philosophy

Job Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and promptly at the door
  • Manage the flow of guests to tables following proper rotation
  • Guide guests to tables while engaging in friendly conversation
  • Present clean menus professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of host station including menus and supplies
  • Follow and track proper service rotation
  • Quote wait times accurately to guests
  • Pre-bus tables occasionally to allow quick turnover
  • Interact with guests upon arrival and departure ensuring a positive experience
  • Keep high-chairs and booster seats sparkling clean
  • Maintain a clean lobby to Silver Diner standards
  • Answer phone promptly with standard greeting
  • Complete assigned side work
  • Communicate clearly and constructively as part of a team
  • Arrive on time and maintain a positive attitude
  • Keep uniform and personal station clean
  • Follow all uniform standards
  • Uphold knowledge of brand delivery and service standards
  • Maintain clean menus and notify management of replacements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
