Job Description
Silver Diner Development LLC is a leader in the casual dining segment, widely recognized for its innovative approach to classic diner cuisine. Celebrated for its award-winning Fresh & Local Menu, Silver Diner bridges the gap between traditional tablecloth restaurants and fast food by offering surprising flexitarian and healthy options. Committed to quality, the company sources the highest quality ingredients through direct partnerships with over 15 local farms dedicated to organic and sustainable farming practices. Silver Diner’s reputation for excellence is backed by prestigious industry honors including recognition as one of the Washington Post's "Most Diverse Places to Work," inclusion in Full Service Restaurant Magazine's "20 Full Service Restaurants to Watch," and winning the 2020 TDn2K Best Practices Award in the Family Dining Category.
With a culture centered on valuing its people as its most precious resource, Silver Diner has established a robust environment that fosters both professional and personal growth. More than 60 percent of their managers and all of their General Managers and Area Directors have been promoted from within, embodying the company's philosophy of investing in its people’s futures. Silver Diner is not just offering a job; it provides a fulfilling career path with opportunities to advance into roles such as trainer, supervisor, and manager. The company emphasizes a warm, friendly atmosphere rooted in authentic hospitality, where employees are encouraged to thrive in a fast-paced and fun work environment.
This role is focused on finding contagiously friendly, warm, and energetic individuals to serve as the face of the Silver Diner brand. Hosts are pivotal members of the team, responsible for greeting guests with genuine hospitality and setting the welcoming tone for their dining experience. They drive the company's mission to provide exceptional guest service by committing to high standards of product execution and customer satisfaction. Hosts play a key role in promoting the flexitarian menu crafted by award-winning Chef Ype Von Hengst and ensuring every guest leaves with a memorable and positive impression.
The position requires weekend and holiday availability and offers both full-time and part-time schedules. Compensation includes an hourly wage plus a share of the tip pool, reflecting the company's commitment to rewarding excellent service. Alongside competitive pay, Silver Diner offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, and an Employee Assistance Program to support employee well-being. Additional perks enhance the workplace experience, such as a referral bonus program, meal discounts, gym membership discounts, and work shoe discounts.
Joining Silver Diner means becoming part of one of the busiest restaurants in America, supported by a company that genuinely cares about their employees’ potential. If you have a passion for hospitality, enjoy connecting with people, and are committed to serving great food with cutting-edge trends, this is an opportunity to join a dynamic team at a thriving organization that puts its people first.
