Job Description
The Beach Club is a prestigious fine dining establishment known for its commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences and outstanding customer service. As an upscale venue, The Beach Club prides itself on creating an inviting and elegant atmosphere for its members and guests, offering a diverse menu and hosting various special events that enhance the dining experience. Located in a vibrant community, the club serves as a social hub where culinary excellence meets warm hospitality, making every visit memorable for its patrons. The Beach Club emphasizes professionalism, attention to detail, and a welcoming environment, all of which are reflected in the team it employs. Each member of the staff is dedicated to maintaining high standards that align with the club's vision of superior service in a refined setting.
The Host/Hostess role at The Beach Club is a critical position within the Food & Beverage department, focused on ensuring guests receive a seamless and pleasant dining experience from the moment they enter. This hourly position requires an individual who possesses a friendly and outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage seating arrangements efficiently during meal periods. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting members and guests with a positive attitude, managing reservations, and handling walk-in requests thoughtfully to maximize seating capacity without compromising comfort or service quality. Beyond seating, this role involves answering phones courteously, addressing inquiries about the menu or events, and taking to-go orders using the club’s POS system.
Additionally, the Host/Hostess plays an essential role in facilitating communication between the front-of-house and kitchen staff by updating reservation sizes, party changes, and special menu information such as daily specials or desserts. The position demands familiarity with the restaurant's floor plans, reservation system, and POS (Jonas) software to ensure smooth operations. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role requires standing for extended periods, walking frequently, and occasionally rearranging furniture to accommodate guests.
Candidates for this role must have a minimum of six months experience in an upscale dining environment and hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. Emphasis is placed on maintaining a balanced atmosphere within the dining room, including managing music, air conditioning, and noise levels to provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
Joining The Beach Club as a Host/Hostess offers the opportunity to be part of a respected team that values guest satisfaction and professional growth. The role not only requires attention to detail and organizational skills but also a genuine passion for guest service that enhances the overall dining experience. Candidates will thrive in this role by welcoming patrons warmly, promoting club events enthusiastically, and contributing positively to the club's reputation as a premier dining destination.
