Job Description
Denny's is a well-established and iconic American diner-style restaurant chain that has been serving guests for many decades. Known for its round-the-clock service, welcoming atmosphere, and a diverse menu offering classic American comfort foods, Denny's prides itself on being a friendly, family-oriented dining location. The company has a nationwide presence in the United States and is recognized for its commitment to customer satisfaction and community involvement. Denny's operates numerous locations across the country, offering a range of employment opportunities in a vibrant, fast-paced hospitality environment.
The role of a Host or Hostess at Denny's is pivotal in creating a memorable dining experience for guests. As the first and last point of contact, the Host/Hostess plays an essential role in shaping the impression guests have of the restaurant. This position is critical in ensuring that guests feel welcomed, valued, and comfortable throughout their visit. The Hosts/Hostesses at Denny's are expected to greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, engaging in positive, sincere interactions that embody the company’s “Guests First” attitude.
In addition to welcoming customers, Hosts/Hostesses are responsible for managing the flow of guests within the dining area by seating them appropriately, taking special needs into consideration, and introducing menu features of the day. They also assist guests by suggesting new menu items, handling payments accurately, managing cash transactions following established procedures, and assisting other team members proactively. The job requires multitasking — from interacting with guests, managing the hostess area, answering phone calls, to assisting with dining room maintenance like clearing and setting tables.
This role offers a competitive pay range between $17.87 to $19.66 per hour, depending on factors like location and experience. The position is ideal for individuals who are personable, customer-focused, and thrive in a team-oriented setting. Denny's is committed to diversity and inclusion in its hiring process and provides reasonable accommodations for applicants throughout the application process. The company uses E-Verify to confirm work authorization but does not use it to pre-screen applicants.
Joining Denny's as a Host/Hostess means becoming part of a respected company that values its employees and strives to deliver an exceptional dining experience to all guests. The role provides valuable experience in customer service, hospitality, and cash handling skills, making it a great opportunity for those looking to grow within the restaurant industry or build a career in hospitality management.
