SSP America is a prominent operator of several well-known restaurants located within the Salt Lake City International Airport. SSP America is currently seeking Host/Hostess team members who will play a pivotal role in enhancing our guests' dining experiences. The Host/Hostess position is crucial as it often represents the first face that guests encounter upon entering the restaurant. This role requires individuals who possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a welcoming demeanor, and the ability to foster a warm, hospitable environment. Hosts and Hostesses at SSP America are trained to ensure guests feel comfortable and valued from the moment they step inside the restaurant.
Responsibilities of the Host/Hostess include greeting guests with warm and friendly smiles, escorting customers to tables efficiently, and maintaining the flow and organization of seating arrangements. This requires a combination of attentiveness and quick decision-making to rotate tables fairly among servers while accommodating guests’ special needs, including families with children or visitors requiring additional assistance. Additionally, the Host/Hostess provides guests with menus, answers questions concerning the restaurant and the airport facilities, and offers recommendations to enhance their dining experience.
SSP America places a high emphasis on communication, so Hosts and Hostesses must relay any special requests or potential issues to servers and management promptly. This role also involves light clearing duties, such as resetting tables and counters at the conclusion of each course to ensure a seamless and enjoyable meal service. Ultimately, the Host/Hostess is responsible for ensuring overall guest satisfaction, which includes thanking guests for their patronage as they leave the restaurant, reinforcing a positive and memorable experience.
This position is available for both full-time and part-time employment with immediate hiring. Compensation includes a competitive wage starting at $15.00 per hour, supplemented by cash tips. - ability to stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- Greet all guests in a courteous and professional manner and escort them to their table
- seat guests and maintain organization and flow in restaurant (rotating tables assigned by server)
- assist guests with children and special needs, as required
- present menus, answer questions and offer suggestions regarding food and service
- inform servers and management of special needs and/or potential problems with guests
- clear and reset counters or tables at conclusion of each course
- ensure complete guest satisfaction
- thank guests for their patronage upon exiting the restaurant
- other duties as assigned
