Job Description
Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a vibrant and dynamic restaurant chain that began its journey in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Founded by two LSU walk-on basketball players who turned their dream into reality without scholarships or guarantees, Walk-On's embodies the spirit of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance. From a single establishment, it has expanded nationally, becoming a recognizable brand that remains deeply rooted in its Louisiana heritage. The restaurant is known for scratch-made dishes that carry a distinct Louisiana flair, set within a lively and welcoming gameday atmosphere that attracts guests seeking both great food and a unique dining experience. At Walk-On's, the culture is built around family, camaraderie, and treating every team member with respect and inclusivity. The company proudly upholds core values such as teamwork, hospitality, passion, growth, and community. These principles guide every interaction, ensuring that both employees and guests feel part of the Walk-On's family. The organization fosters an environment that encourages personal and professional growth, offering opportunities to learn and advance within the company. Walk-On's is committed to celebrating diversity and creating an inclusive workplace where every employee can thrive and contribute to the ongoing success of the brand. Employment here is part-time and non-exempt, ideal for individuals who value flexibility, collaboration, and being part of a spirited team on and off the gameday floor.
The role of Host/Hostess at Walk-On's is pivotal, serving as the first point of contact for guests and embodying the company's championship-level service philosophy. Reporting directly to the Manager on Duty, hosts and hostesses play a key role in creating memorable dining experiences by welcoming guests warmly, efficiently seating them, and maintaining a positive and team-first attitude. The position requires readiness to contribute energetically to all facets of service, from running food and handling takeout orders to maintaining clean dining areas and assisting teammates in various tasks. Hosts and hostesses are also responsible for upholding all alcohol service laws and company policies, including maintaining any necessary state certifications. This role demands excellent communication skills, multitasking capabilities, and the ability to remain calm and friendly under pressure. Walk-On's offers a flexible part-time schedule, making this role suitable for students or individuals balancing other commitments. The company is dedicated to creating a fun and supportive environment that encourages employees to thrive while delivering exceptional hospitality. As part of the Walk-On's family, team members have the chance to grow into other roles within the restaurant group, supported by a culture that values hard work, enthusiasm, and guest satisfaction. This position is not only a job but an opportunity to engage in a winning culture where every shift brings new challenges and rewards.
