The role of Host/Hostess at The Beach Club is vital to the overall guest experience. This hourly position involves greeting members and guests with warmth and professionalism, managing reservations efficiently, and ensuring seating arrangements align with the dining periods and reservation system. The Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact within the restaurant, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and representing the high standards of the club through attentive and courteous service. The position requires familiarity with restaurant floor plans, the POS system (Jonas), and the club's menu offerings including to-go orders. The Host/Hostess must be proactive in communicating with the kitchen staff regarding reservations and party sizes, promoting club events enthusiastically, and maintaining clean and organized menus throughout the venue. A comprehensive understanding of the operational flow during meal periods is essential, along with the ability to handle walk-in guests tactfully while balancing room ambiance factors such as music, temperature, and noise levels.
Candidates for this role should have a minimum of six months' experience working as a host or hostess in an upscale dining venue, coupled with previous fine dining experience. High school education or equivalent is required. The position demands excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly and outgoing personality, and a genuine enjoyment of interacting with members and guests. Organizational skills and common sense are important attributes, as is the ability to stand for prolonged periods and manage physical tasks like moving tables and chairs. Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Receive members and guests with confidence and assurance that each visit meets The Beach Club standards
- Monitor reservations and phone calls
- Keep abreast of all club events and disseminate information to members and guests in a positive manner to promote events
- Keep the kitchen informed about reservation changes, party sizes, and daily specials
- Greet members by proper name announcement
- Keep all menus organized, clean, and up-to-date
- Change out menus for special events such as lunch and dinner menus
