Job Requirements

  • Arrives to work on time as scheduled and ready to work
  • Follows Miller's Ale House policies including time recording such as clocking in and out
  • Supports other front-of-house functions as needed
  • Exhibits friendly disposition and attentiveness to guests
  • Provides exceptional service throughout the entire shift
  • Helps maintain safety and sanitation standards
  • Sets up team members for success at shift change
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Able to reach, bend, squat, and lift up to 20 lbs for short distances
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years unless otherwise dictated by state law
  • Basic reading and handwriting skills
  • Ability to operate the restaurant’s front door seating software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a warm and friendly manner
  • Seat guests based on their seating preferences when possible
  • Rotate seating among servers to ensure even workloads and prompt service
  • Provide departing guests with a warm salutation and invitation to return
  • Assist service team members by bussing dishes, sanitizing, and resetting tables as needed
  • Manage guest placement in the entrance area to enhance experience and ensure safety
  • Provide accurate wait times and recommend seating options such as the bar
  • Answer incoming restaurant calls professionally
  • Maintain a neat and organized workstation and entrance area
  • Complete tasks included on the host opening and closing sidework charts
  • Ensure restrooms are clean, tidy, and stocked
  • Communicate with team members and management to keep everyone informed
  • Notify management immediately of any potential guest or team member issues
