Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- Extensive standing during peak hours
- Must have a high level of mobility/flexibility
- Must be able to work under heavy pressure during peak hours
- Must be able to bend, reach, and walk
- Good phone skills
- Ability to operate cash register and computers
- Ability to carry trays of food weighing up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to observe and differentiate between monetary denominations
- Simple math skills required
- Ability to communicate well with guests
- Must have sufficient mobility to move and/or operate in the work area
- Must meet any state, county, or municipal regulations pertaining to health risk concerns about food handling
- Must maintain a professional image at all times
- Must complete all video training, anti-discrimination and anti-harassment training, and comply with Denny’s nondiscrimination policies
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome customers immediately upon arrival, verifying the number in their party and determining any special needs
- Collect payment from customers in accordance with established cash handling procedures and handle customer complaints/suggestions appropriately
- Seat customers at tables/booths appropriate for their needs and those of the restaurant
- Handle incoming phone calls promptly
- Maintain a proper supply of menus and ensure they are clean and in good repair
- Provide customers with initial beverage orders and refill their beverages when possible
- Assist service personnel in cleaning and setting tables as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized waiting area and register area
- Embody and promote company values
