Job Duties

  • Check with Manager-on-Duty for any floor changes
  • Check host stand for adequate supplies
  • Ensure floor plans are current and provide updates to servers
  • Greet guests warmly and acknowledge them promptly
  • Lead guests to their tables with a smile and maintain proximity
  • Present clean menus with the cocktail side facing the guest
  • Inform guests of their server and recommend signature drinks
  • Ensure no guests are seated at dirty tables
  • Pay special attention to children, babies, and guests with disabilities
  • Use proper seating rotation
  • Utilize Manager-on-Duty if any service issues arise
  • Maintain two-host staffing, one greeting and one seating
  • Collect menus and silverware throughout the restaurant
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Write names on waiting lists and accurately quote wait times
  • Observe and manage table status
  • Answer telephones and menu questions
  • Ensure positive guest interactions when entering and leaving
  • Fill to-go orders if applicable
  • Maintain restrooms during shift
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
