Job Description

Our establishment is a bustling restaurant dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience by combining outstanding customer service and efficient operations in a welcoming atmosphere. Known for its commitment to quality and guest satisfaction, our restaurant prides itself on a team-oriented environment where every employee plays a vital role in delivering an unforgettable service. We are currently seeking a Host/Hostess to join our dynamic team as a vital front-of-house member responsible for creating the first and lasting impression guests have of our establishment.

As a Host/Hostess, you will serve as the welcoming face of the restaurant, greeted guests courteously and promptly with genuine enthusiasm and a positive attitude. The role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the Host/Hostess is the starting point for our guests’ dining experience, assisting in seating arrangements, managing waitlists, and taking take-out orders both in-person and by phone. This position requires a high level of customer service ability under often fast-paced conditions, ensuring that every guest feels valued and well taken care of from the moment they arrive.

Your duties will extend beyond greeting and seating, including answering phone calls and directing them accurately, placing orders for take-out meals, managing the flow and cleanliness of the host area, and sometimes even assisting with beverage preparation or expediting food orders when necessary. Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lobby area and menus plays a significant role in upholding our standards of hospitality and presentation.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of our menu offerings and be familiar with Aloha Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals for efficient order taking and payment processing. Strong critical thinking, time management skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy restaurant environment are essential qualities for success. As the Host/Hostess, you will liaise with management and kitchen staff to handle guest complaints delicately and ensure a smooth dining service.

The position offers the opportunity to work a variety of shifts in a fast-paced, time-sensitive restaurant setting, requiring flexibility and stamina. Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and the need for keen vision and alertness. Job Duties

  • Welcoming and escorting guests to tables and providing menus
  • managing the wait list
  • answering telephone and directing calls
  • placing walk-in/call-in take out orders
  • preparing beverages and expediting food orders if necessary
  • collecting payment from customers
  • addressing complaints of patrons or communicating guest's concerns to the manager as appropriate
  • ensuring that take-out orders are complete and food looks appealing before being delivered to a guest
  • ensuring that all food is delivered to guest in a timely manner
  • maintaining knowledge of all table numbers
  • performing opening, running, and closing duties
  • other duties as requested by manager
